Racquet Ready: Austin Gears Up for the Return of the ATX Open

by Realty Haus™

Realty Haus is excited to bring you the latest on Austin's burgeoning tennis scene with the return of the ATX Open in February. Following the success of its inaugural event, which attracted 18,000 spectators, Austin is once again set to host this Women’s Tennis Association tournament, showcasing top talent in the world of women’s tennis.

This year's tournament promises an impressive lineup, with Sloane Stephens, Danielle Collins, and Victoria Azarenka confirmed to participate. Stephens, celebrated for her victory at the 2017 U.S. Open among her seven career titles, made a strong showing at last year's ATX Open, reaching the quarterfinals. Her commitment to community was also recognized with the 2023 Women’s Catalyst Award, thanks to her philanthropic efforts through the Sloane Stephens Foundation.

Collins, known for her dynamic play, reached the semifinals at last year's ATX Open and carried that momentum to other tournaments throughout the year. Azarenka, joining the Austin tournament for the first time, brings a wealth of experience as a two-time Australian Open winner and former world No. 1.

The ATX Open is not just about showcasing established stars; it also serves as a platform for emerging talent. The DropShot Tournament Series H-E-B Women’s Pro Tennis Open, set for November, offers a wildcard entry to its winner, mirroring last year's opportunity that saw Peyton Stearns advance to the ATX Open quarterfinals.

Last year's tournament saw Marta Kostyuk and the duo of Erin Routliffe and Aldila Sutjiadi taking home the singles and doubles titles, respectively. The 2024 ATX Open, to be held at the Westwood Country Club starting February 24, is eagerly anticipated by tennis enthusiasts and the local community alike. For those interested in being part of this thrilling event, tickets and additional information can be found on the official ATX Open website.
