What’s Being Built · October 2026

Manor is building a center,
not just more rooftops.

The 84-acre headline is big. The useful part is what is actually moving first: infrastructure, City Hall, a library and a public gathering place.

01 · What changed

The civic piece crossed a real milestone.

The City of Manor and Hunt Real Estate & Infrastructure announced financial close and notice to proceed for the civic portion of Manor Town Center. A November 14 groundbreaking is scheduled for Phase One enabling infrastructure at 13301 U.S. Highway 290 East.

The important distinction: the town center is not arriving all at once. The civic campus is the part moving first.

02 · The Haus take

Watch the order, not just the acreage.

Manor has added homes quickly. A town center is a different kind of growth because it tries to create a place people go to, not only a place people sleep.

01Financial closeThe civic portion has moved beyond a concept announcement into financing and notice to proceed.
02Infrastructure firstPhase One enabling infrastructure is the next visible milestone. That is the groundwork the civic campus and later pieces depend on.
03Civic anchorCity Hall, a public library and a gathering lawn can create a daily destination before the rest of the private development is complete.
04What followsThe bigger signal will be which commercial and residential pieces actually move next, and how they connect to U.S. 290 and the rest of Manor.
Housing-first growth

More rooftops

Population can grow faster than the places residents use for civic life, services and everyday errands.

03 · Your context

What does a town center change for you?

The useful question is when daily life actually changes.

Watch the construction sequence, library and City Hall delivery, access and which services follow. Those are the milestones residents will feel.

Separate what exists from what is planned.

If you are comparing Manor today, evaluate today’s commute, services, schools, taxes and traffic. Treat Town Center as future context until each piece is physically delivered.

This story and the 290 story are connected.

A new town center adds destinations along a corridor that is already being redesigned around regional and local trips. Access will matter as much as the buildings.

This is a maturity signal.

Fast-growing places eventually have to add civic space and services, not just housing. The next test is whether the private development follows the public anchor.

What happens on November 14? +
The City of Manor has announced a groundbreaking ceremony for Phase One enabling infrastructure at 13301 U.S. Highway 290 East. A ceremony is a milestone, not proof that every part of the town center is being built at once.

Public facilities can create a daily destination and establish infrastructure before later private pieces arrive. The practical impact depends on actual construction, access, services and what follows around it.
